REAL LIFE DEVIANT ART FRIEND (VARIED ARTIST) :iconakakkak: and :iconscribble-snap:

This talented artist :thumb33381971:

is quite adept with the various tools of the deviant trade and has produced a whole range of fascinating deviations that reveal much about her personality and character. What you see here on DA, is what you get!

Elle is very creative and has made a number of avatars for us deviants, including mine. This creativity is not limited to the pen or the tablet though and don't be fooled by her quiet demeanour, as she has found a way to make her voice heard  :thumb31928774:

She expresses a playful personality in
:thumb34779406: and in :thumb37337955: she shows a great sense of humour.

She has produced a variety of super ID's all along a consistent theme:
:thumb27676991::thumb19861928::thumb38196250:
which all represent a wonderful sensitivity and all have something to do with these creatures ;-)
:thumb7712466: as expressed in this excellent pencil drawing.

However, beware when she is on the war path :thumb35137740:

Life is 'nt all play though. She has a soaring ambition as seen in :thumb36202716: and what's more, is already on the path to success and goal achievement :thumb38943139:

EDIT: re Sixthgate studios see Elle's latest journal entry- she is not a happy bunny...[link]

Here are some of my favourite photographs from her photographic gallery

Good Luck at Farnham this year Elle

REAL LIFE DEVIANT ART FRIEND (VARIED ARTIST) :iconlucifer-likes-sweets:

First time I met Michael was some years ago now, outside :iconwiccawitch:'s school one afternoon many moons ago when collecting Megan from school..and was duly greeted with a "Hi MegansMum" on the spot ;-), which seems to have stuck in my memory and does not seem so long ago, making it hard to believe he and others from the group are either already in uni, or starting uni in a few weeks time.

Michael's art impressed me from the start and he has continued to impress with his ability to work in various media and genres ranging from:

painting to drawing and more recently graphics and photography.

Regardless of the medium he works in, he demonstrates a special talent for perspective and my favourite work is his final A Level piece.

                  This painting is exceptional.

An optical illusion - while the perspective goes into the picture, the painting is drawn/painted on a three dimensional pyramid canvas where the apex of the pyramid comes out of the centre of the canvas towards the viewer- brilliant work Michael :star:

Here is a selection of some of my favourite pieces from his work with perspective.

Good luck at Farnham Michael!

REAL LIFE DEVIANT ART FRIEND FEATURE (PHOTOGRAPHER)

This journal is aimed at highlighting the art of some of my real life deviant art friends. This one is about my first watcher, von-balthazar.

:iconvon-balthazar: who, when wiccawitch and I bumped into him and arterion in Town on the eve of the release of the last Harry Potter book, discovered his friend's mum- yours truly- had acquired a deviant art account, succumbed to some devious (or is it deviant) magic that was obviously about that night and promptly went and added me to his watch list :D. Must be something to do with the fact that his favourite number (8) is supposed to be my lucky number ;-) according to the Chinese.

I returned the watch and thereafter was able to appreciate his natural eye for line, form and composition as well as his penchant ;-) for benches.
Although there are only two photographs containing benches in his gallery, I happen to know from other sources, that he has some more of those tucked away.

As a watcher he has to be up there with the best. He loyally puts much thought and effort into providing incisive, meaningful comments consistently in response to my deviations. :thanks: It is this style of response that is so rewarding to me personally and I am sure all of us deviants.

Here are some of my favourite shots from his gallery:

I hope now that it is summer holidays and no stresses ands strains from exams, that we may get to see some more deviations soon :-)

New Journal Plans

I think it's about time I did something constructive with the journal facility of DA. However, not being a technical person, I need to acquaint myself with the technical know- how to make it more interesting, so watch this space..:-)

EDIT : Have now discovered how to display a thumbnail in my journal :D. Sometime over the summer holdiay I will be compiling a journal on a trip to China  I made in 1996 displaying some of my photographs (including the great wall etc), but most of these deviations won't appear in my gallery, but they will appear in scraps, as unfortunately my scanner is rather dodgy at the moment. This is affecting the quality of the scans, which is a great pity as there are some really interesting photographs. Oh well, should have also scanned them ages ago.

On another note, one very talented artist :icondrmrbynoone: deserves some exposure on DA. This artist took one of my deviations and produced this beautiful painting almost overnight.

Well, some plans coming up for featuring some of my real life deviant art friends and favourites from my gallery too, so keep an eye out ;-)

Thank You for your Support

Well, I noticed that I now have 100 deviants watching my work, although one or two of those are actually the same person. Nonetheless, the expansion of those people who are interested in seeing and commenting on my deviations has grown rapidly over the last month or two since I had the privilege of being put forward as an "Unknown Artist".

To superkev who officially put me on that list and to Ashknight who also featured "Japanese Mosaic" from an unknown artist in his journal many moons ago, a big thank you for promoting my work-also thank you to Restlessphotographer who has also featured my work. And then, of no less importance, to all of you out there who watch my deviations and take the time to not only look, but to comment-All comments are especially encouraging and the many ideas for doing things better the next time are really appreciated.

mrphillipie was the 100th deviant to befriend me:D

Happy New Year Everyone

Mon Jan 2, 2006, 2:03 AM
Life Goes On

Well, having been meaning to write a new journal for some time now, but being too lazy/busy having fun on holiday, it hasn't been done. No better time than the present!

I hope all my deviant art friends and those who watch me :community:, had a happy holiday and are now all setup for an exciting and successful year ahead.

We had a great time in France and Switerland  :snowing:and I even got to try skiing for the first time (together with the beginner children) and achieved some spectacular falls...:D

:camera:Photography was definitely on the agenda and over the next while I shall submit some of my photos. Since this was my first "real" snow experience, it was difficult to get the right exposures on the shots all the time so some will need some photoshopping to correct the under/over exposed ones.

Back in the UK, its normal winter weather (grey and wet) and not many photo opportunities at the moment).

I have a lot to look forward to this year one being wiccawitches return soon. (She is currently having a ball in a game park somewhere in South Africa).

I have one or two new year's resolutions so lets hope I stick to them. And those of you who have done the same- I hope you all manage to stick to them this this year :-) :strong:

End of term

Tue Dec 13, 2005, 11:40 AM
5 days to go

Well, its only 5 days to the end of term and still counting.....

Exams are just about over and things getting back to normal- at least as normal as possible just before the christmas hols!

The award evening was great! There were lots of :winner:s last night. It was really nice seeing the achievement of all and a special congratulations to Dave for the music prize and Jade for the Art prize (both members of Nimby).  It was great to meet up with forsaken scribble, lucifer likes sweets and even those who were at uni made it to the evening..dr dolots and von balthazar who was already on holiday..hadnt seen some of them since wiccawitches birthday bash..Nice meeting up with all again.

:xmas: tree and lights are now up and its really feeling like Christmas...especially with all the carol services taking place here and there and everywhere..

Well only 5 days to go and wont put out any more journals till last day so as not to clog people's message boxes up...

Movie Magic

Sun Nov 27, 2005, 11:22 AM
Movie Magic

We really enjoyed HP IV- just wish wiccawitch was here to enjoy it with us though.  Next is the Narnia movie- cant wait for that.

Re HP IV- The stadium was brilliant and the darker approach to the story great. A pity though that Harry Potter looks 16 but has to act 14! :D

Cant seem to get hold of Megan- must be enjoying herself too much right now! Sigh. I guess she has seen HP iv in SA or will soon...

Got a day off tomorrow so that will be really nice and relaxing. A pity there wont be any snow. Also waiting for it..Just had some sleet this morning.
